A study on SAP HANA
According to sources the in-memory database ‘SAP HANA’ was found to be more comprehensive, cheaper, and faster to deploy than the claims of people critical to the product. However, this result seems to be inconsistent with the research results on HANA released by a research company. The announcement is the result of a survey conducted by Centiq, a reseller of multiple enterprise IT products such as SAP, to a market research firm Coleman Parks.
The Centiq study seems to emphasize that HANA has a relatively short time to production. 72% percent said it had been operational within six months. However, the speed of its implementation varies widely from industry to industry. Manufacturing (79%), high-tech and telecommunications (75%), retail and distribution (62%) were able to implement the database within half a year, but 67% of respondents in the public sector have 7 to 12 It is said that it took a month.
According to the survey, it has been confirmed that the use case of HANA has spread to fields other than analytics. It was used as much as analytics for data warehousing and transaction processing.
